The Faculty of Physician Associates awards 2017 are now open for entry.

The annual FPA Awards celebrates the talents of physician associates, their supervisors, and those who have contributed to the development of the profession.

The winners will be announced at this year's FPA Annual Conference, held at the RCP from Monday 18 to Tuesday 19 September 2017. This will be a time to recognise the talent and dedication of all nominees and winners.

So many physician associates, supervisors and those involved in the profession carry out work across the UK to deliver incredible patient-centred care, as well as promoting and raising awareness of the physician associate the profession. There are three categories for the physician associate awards:

  • Physician associate of the year*
  • Physician associate supervisor of the year
  • Contribution to the physician associate profession

*please note you must be a member of the FPA to be nominated for the physician associate of the year award.

Applications close at 17.00 on Monday 14 August 2017.

The award categories 

Physician associate of the year award

Candidates for physician associate of the year award are dedicated individuals committed to delivering excellent patient care, are exemplary members of the multi-disciplinary team, and are advocates for the profession. 

Physician associate supervisor of the year award

Does your supervisor or a supervisor that you know go above and beyond to encourage you in your role, and provide the best support that they can? Candidates for the physician associate supervisor of the year award are dedicated, supportive and encouraging, helping the physician associates they are responsible for develop and excel. 

Contribution to the physician associate profession award

Do you know someone who has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the physician associate role and helped promote the profession? Perhaps they have played a pivotal role in advancing the education and training of physician associates, or contributed to the building of relationships between physician associates and other healthcare professions. 

  

What are the prizes?

Winning entrants will each receive:

  • £300 prize money
  • a Faculty of Physician Associates winners certificate, presented at the 2017 conference
  • the focus of an article about your award and why you won, on the FPA website
  • the opportunity to present at the FPA conference 2018.
